Marine Innovation to shine at the Johannesburg Boat Show

06 August, 2015

Innovation takes centre stage at the 2015 Johannesburg Boat Show. The latest boats and marine engine technology will be on display from 14 - 16 August at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec.

Waterworld have confirmed their debut line-up for the show with the Evinrude E-TEC G2 outboard engine range. Winner of the 2015 Miami International Boat Show Innovation Award, the range is designed to produce best-in-class torque whilst delivering improved fuel-efficiency and lower emissions. In addition, the range is built to last with no dealer-schedule maintenance for 500 hours of operation.

Available in a wide range of colour combinations enabling buyers to customise the engine to match their boat. Also incorporated is a Dual Axis Rigging system routing engine cables through just one tube, providing more usable space on the transom, the E-TEC G2 range is designed to offer users style with reduced running costs.

Another innovative product on the Waterworld stand is the Sea-Doo SPARK. Fitted with Sea-Doo's Intelligent Brake and Reverse System, the SPARK allows users to stop sooner and dock with ease. The iBR is a world-first and is hailed as a significant advance in personal watercraft safety. Operated by the squeeze of a lever and with electronic reverse it offers a level of manoeuvrability for easy docking.

The playful, easy-to-ride SPARK is available in a variety of colours and customisation options and offers a fuel-efficient engine whilst remaining light and compact enough to tow behind almost any vehicle.

The Cobalt R5 Bowrider also makes its debut on the Waterworld stand. Featuring an eye-catching exterior profile, bold graphics and a high-quality finish, the R5 will ensure you turn heads on the water this summer. The flip-down swim step makes it easy to put on skis or reboard without the need for a bolt-on ladder getting you out on the water quicker.

Adrenaline junkies can thrill to the skill of the Red Bull X-Fighters performing motorcycle stunts on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August whilst the Enduroworld SA Pro-Super Enduro race pits South Africa's leading riders against each other in the chase to win R50 000 prize money. Visitors can also experience the thrill of drifting by signing up for a suicide ride on the drifting circuit.

A fun-filled weekend awaits Gauteng families visiting the Johannesburg Boat Show.
