There's a truckload of high-octane entertainment in store for dads and lads at the Rand Show this Easter holiday. Here's a selection of just some of the free attractions included in your ticket to this year's show.


SANDF DISPLAYS AND EXHIBITS
The SANDF's highly anticipated capability displays return to the Rand Show's main arena this Easter weekend. There are explosions and helicopters in combat and anti-rhino-poaching simulations from 3-6 April, plus over 10 000 sqm of military exhibits from 3-12 April featuring the Rooivalk, MK2 tank, survey boat and much more.


WORLD OF MOTORING
Hall 5 holds a feast of all things motoring, with a multi-million-rand private collection of classic American V8 cars from the 1950s on display. There will also be displays of historic racing cars, dragsters, street rods, modified street cars and stunning first-edition Minis and Volkswagens.


PETROLHEADS STAGE
On the Petrolheads Stage in the World of Motoring (Hall 5), well-known motoring journalist, Stuart Johnston, will host various guests, including motoring personality and F1 expert, Hendrik Verwoerd, for talks on Formula One and other motoring topics.


Q&A WITH ADAM AND SAGIE
Fans of the popular "Buyer's Guide" TV show on IGNITION (DStv channel 189) can join hosts Adam Ford and Sagie Moodley at 12h00 from 3-6 and 11-12 April for a 30-minute Q & A session, live on the Petrolheads Stage in Hall 5.


BRIAN CAPPER THRILLS WITH HIS RIDING SKILLS
Xtreme Riding Xhibitions is an action-packed Foot-up Trials riding show featuring multiple national champion Brian Capper. He'll be attacking a series of impossible obstacles on his bike, with some insane trick riding and stunts thrown in. Visit the World of Motoring hall at 11h00 and 15h00 from 3-6 and 11-12 April to catch this show.


FUELED FANATICS ARENA
The Fueled Fanatics Arena at the Rand Show 2015 is where the world of street racing meets the world of heavy bass sound. Car sound and performance junkies will battle it out in various competitions, plus there's motorised trike drifting, BMX and skateboard trix, graffiti artists, flash mobs, hip-hop dancers ... it's going to be an off-the-hook weekend. 11-12 April.


GET CLOSE TO THE ACTION
Get up close to the racing action at the Rand Show leg of the SA Pro Super Enduro Series, presented by Enduro World. This extreme off-road motorcycle race on the Rand Show's 4x4 track combines a mixture of motorcycling disciplines - supercross, trials and enduro - making it as exciting for spectators as it is for the riders. Saturday 11 April from 15h00 to 19h00, and Sunday 12 April from 10h00 to 14h00.


NEW EXTREME STUNT PHENOMENON
New to SA and live at the Rand Show: it's Sevensevensports' stunt biking show, a free extreme sports show that mixes crazy heights with bikes, aerial tricks, freefalls and seriously large stunt airbags. Catch two free extreme stunt shows daily at the Rand Show, at 12h00 and 15h00, from
3-12 April. Rand Show visitors can also try out bagjumping for themselves at the Sevensevensports Freefall Tower (tickets cost R100 per freefall).


BATTLE OF THE BEHEMOTHS
A host of top strength athletes will compete in the Rand Show National Strongest Man 2015 competition, a qualifying round for the title of SA's Strongest Man. On Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April, the Rand Show's main arena will reverberate to the sound of a titanic battle of strength as the competitors vie for the top three honours to qualify for the finals of SA's Strongest Man in September 2015.


EXTREME BODIES 2015
On Saturday 11 April, from 14h00 to 17h00, the Rand Show's Spice of Life Stage outside Hall 8 will show off some of Gauteng's most toned abs and sculpted quads. Contestants will be competing in four divisions: men in Mr Physique (men's front cover and model, plus physique) and Mr Bodybuilding (all weights), and women in Miss Bikini and Miss Toned Bikini.


SHOWDOWN OF SA'S POOL ELITE
The 2014/15 BPL Showdown, the final pool playoff of the Blackball Premier League, happens on 3-5 April. Come see the country's top 30 pool players from the premier, first and second divisions going head to head in a straight knockout for supremacy. The final match is scheduled for 10h00 on Sunday, 5 April. There will be BPL demonstrations on Monday, 6 April.
